Ano Liosia Theatre Group "Hyperenlightened"

They were created in 2018 by the playwright, director and actor Yannis Galanopoulos. They have presented 6 complete performances, which have won great awards such as Directing & Best Performance at Panhellenic Theatre Festivals (Thermaikos, Spherchiada, Monemvasia, Filiatron, Corinth, Vrilissia, etc.). They have collaborated with renowned actors such as Giorgos Pantzas, Eleni Gerasimidou, Dimitris Pyatas and Yannis Zouganelis. They have a theatre workshop in Drossoupoli Ano Liosia and from this year onwards a children's theatre group, the "Little Enlightened Ones", for children from the age of 8.

The case of the project

Prana, in yogic terminology, means vital energy. In the theatre it means a hilarious comedy about human relationships! Leonidas is a writer, going through a mid-life crisis and while married to Dora, he enters into a relationship with Olga who is a yoga teacher from Kalmykia. Prana will start to break down when Dora hires as a yoga teacher ...Olga! Then, Leonidas will find himself confronted by his wife, his mother, his cousin and his best friend in an energetic comedy of "good openings" under the watchful eye of Buddha Siacamuni!

YIANNIS GALANOPOULOS

His first play "Ouzo Candies" was presented in two summer tours with Stavros Nikolaidis as the leading actor. The plays "Snake in my bosom" and "Postseismic Sequence or How the Chinese make it" won the Writers' Prize in the Panhellenic Competition of the H.S.E. and the M. Cacoyannis Foundation (2018, 2019). This play also won the Writers' Prize in the Panhellenic Theatre Festival of Monemvasia and this year it will be staged by the Psychiko Theatre Group. In addition to the above, he has written the plays "Prana, an energy comedy" and "Chain" which will be staged by the "Yperklitismeni". For his latest play "He opened the door" he was recently awarded in the 7th Panhellenic Theatre Competition (2023), of the H.S.E. and the Michael Cacoyannis Foundation with another Writing Award. As an actor he has participated in performances, films, series and commercials.
