Since 1985,
contribution to culture
It is an embrace and umbrella for the cultural events of our country. It has the honor of organizing two of the longest running events in Greece, enhancing the cultural identity of the country, both at home and abroad.
The Association of Cultural Associations of Karditsa was founded in 1985 and is the secondary organ of the Prefecture that "houses" the activity and operation of 220 Associations.
It organises the following two leading cultural events on an annual basis:
a) the Panhellenic Amateur Theatre Festival which takes place in the third ten days of March.
b) the International Cultural Festival Karaiskakeia, which takes place in the last ten days of June.
However, apart from the above two top events, the Union of Cultural Associations is involved in many other activities during the year and constantly undertakes various initiatives, becoming an active part of our society. It has established the organization of the Municipal Song Festival that has been held for five years every October and November at the Municipal Market of Karditsa on the occasion of the beginning of the new dance season for our local Associations.
